What is a Social Supermarket?
Our Social Supermarket offers a wide range of affordable groceries to help people eat well despite the increasing cost of living. We work with local food producers, charities, distributors and suppliers to provide products at a lower cost than many other supermarkets.
Who is it for?
Our supermarket is for Belfast And Lisburn residents affected by the rising cost of living and struggling to afford enough food.
There’s no means-testing or other assessment and members of the community struggling are free to come in to buy at a low cost affordable price.
We sells a wide range of affordable groceries and toileteries at low cost to support those impacted by welfare reform / benefit arrangements.
What is available?
- Affordable food including fresh, chilled, frozen food and drinks; cleaning products; tins and packets of everyday essentials. We price our products at 40% to 50% of typical supermarket prices.
Bubble Mall Social Supermarket is not just about providing food, it’s about empowering individuals to make their own decisions and supporting their sense of pride through access to high-quality, nutritious food at a small fee.
How can I help out?
This is a real community effort and we couldn’t do it without our amazing volunteers and suppliers.
Here’s how you can get involved:
- Volunteer. You can apply here.
- If you’re a local food supplier or have an allotment we would love to give out your food to the community
- Donate carrier bags/bags for life etc
- If you’re from an organisation that offers advice or support, we could host an information session for our community
